Make your waste management more sustainable

Below you will find an overview of different waste categories. Each section provides information on which category the waste belongs to, as well as guidelines on what can and cannot be mixed in the respective categories.

Ordinary waste

Waste from the business that is not hazardous waste is considered ordinary waste. Containing ordinary waste hazardous waste must be sorted out and handled separately.

Deviations are recorded against waste producer. EE waste is considered ordinary waste but should never end up in other fractions since EE waste contains hazardous substances.

Hazardous - and radioactive waste

Wastes containing substances hazardous to health and the environment which may, among other things, be toxic, carcinogenic, flammable or endocrine disrupting.

All hazardous waste must be sorted at source to prevent it from getting lost in the environment. Hazardous waste and radioactive waste must be packaged and labelled according to special rules, declared on a separate form and delivered to an approved hazardous waste reception.

Ordinary waste

Ordinary waste is waste from public or private companies or institutions. It is the individual owner/waste owner who is responsible for ensuring that waste is treated properly. The Pollution Act states that no one must discharge, leave behind, store or transport waste so that it may appear unsightly or be to the detriment or inconvenience to people and the environment.

Hazardous waste

Hazardous waste is waste that contains hazardous substances above a limit value or which may cause serious pollution or risk of harm to humans and the environment. Hazardous waste must not be mixed with other waste and must be stored in such a way as to prevent the risk of spillage.

All hazardous waste including LRA shall be classified on a common declaration form
The person who first submits the waste shall stand as the waste producer
It is important to choose the right waste receiver. SAR, for example, has several locations such as belongs to the same department
Declaration number is a unique tracking number
Packaging should always be marked with the declaration number and waste material number
The waste producer is responsible for providing adequate information about the waste and it is recommended to always attach data sheets
