After more than 20 years in SAR, we extend a big thank you to our Director of HSEQ & Sustainability, Karen Aanestad, for her significant contributions to the company. There are new challenges ahead and we wish her all the best.
For two decades Karen has been a key figure in the development of our work within Health, Environment and Safety (HSE), quality and sustainability. She has built a strong team and implemented improvements that have strengthened SAR for the future.
Karen has stood strong in both good and demanding times, with an impressive ability to handle complex challenges and secure the necessary permits for operations and development. Her commitment to the environment and sustainability has been a clear driving force and leaves a lasting imprint on both the department and the company as a whole.
“Being real and true to myself has always been important to me. I hope to be remembered as a leader who built trust, engaged others and fostered collaboration. I'm very proud of the team we've built together. Those who come to this department in the future have a lot to look forward to,”

We are grateful for the strong team Karen leaves behind. They are well equipped to continue the work of always prioritizing safety and turning waste into valuable resources — a vision she has helped to realize.
