New long-term contract with Aker BP

The SAR has signed a five-year contract with Aker BP for the reception and treatment of drilling waste. The agreement lasts until 2030, with the possibility of further extensions, and includes all regions where SAR has reception and treatment facilities along the Norwegian coast.

The contract covers not only the reception and treatment of drilling waste, but also advisory services and initiatives supporting Aker BP's sustainability strategy. In line with SAR's vision — “Turning Waste into Value” — some of the drilling waste will be recovered and converted into new products.

“The most important success factors for our deliveries are meeting customer needs in a predictable way — in terms of time, cost and quality,”
stating Christer Engstrom, department head at SAR's drilling waste facility in Risavika.
“Aker BP is known for its strong focus on continuous improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration and environmental impact reduction. We are extremely pleased that this collaboration continues and we would like to thank all the staff who have helped build this trust,”
stating Havard Smørdal, contract officer in the SAR.
“For us, it is important to see the entire value chain in context and create value for both the customer and other stakeholders — while supporting Aker BP's goal of reducing waste and improving resource utilization,”
underscores Tor Olav Schibevaag, Chief Executive Officer of SAR.
